Project #6_Shot 1_Murphy

Shot #1: Front Light

Intention/Technical: The goal was to use frontal lighting to capture the subject in full light, capturing all the details. I used a 33mm focal length, 1/500 exposure, and f/4.5.

Reference to the reading: In chapter 4, Freeman talks about color relationships and how orange and blue are common photographic color combinations. I used this notion by framing my photo so that the orange tones in the photo are contrasted just a bit by the blue peeking out from the top of the photo.

Outcome: This photo met my vision. I love the way you can see a little bit of sky in the background, however, it doesn’t take away from the detail of the logs.

Edits: I turned up the highlights, saturation, and vibrance while deepening the shadows and black in the photo. I also increased the saturation of the orange and green tones in the photo to make the detail in the wood stand out a bit more.
